Baby Name Disasters and How to Avoid Them

A baby name disaster could be just colse to the corner, if you are currently pondering baby names for your soon to be born baby. Choosing the right baby name for your newborn is extremely prominent because all of you have to live with it forever! By the end of this report you should know how to avoid a few baby name disasters.

  1. Naming baby after their Daddy, Mommy, a grandparent, or even Uncle Mortimor ... Many parents conclude to name their new baby after themselves or their partner. You may wish to think if the name is, well, unusual or "unique". In addition, if Mommy's name can now be turned into a "funny" nickname when joined together with her married last name, you may, again wish to reconsider. Also, adding the name "Junior" (Jr.) to the baby's name should be reconsidered. Most babys' and children, even all the way to adulthood, who have "Junior" attached to their name are called ... Junior! Think about Dale Earnhardt, Junior. Guess what everyone knows him as in the Nascar Racing World. It's "Junior" or Dale, Jr., of course. Not simply "Dale", that's for sure; and the fellow is in his 30's for goodness sake! Choosing to name baby after a grandparent or a favorite aunt or uncle needs to be considered idea over, as well. Sometimes, the relatives names', coupled with baby's last name can turn into a "disaster."
  2. Make sure you write the name down as it will appear on the birth certificate and say it out loud some times. Sometimes a name looks lovely, yet when you say it out loud, it could turn into a whole distinct meaning. For example, the name "Anita" is a very pretty name, yet it can sound like "I Need A". If it coupled with a last name like, "Bath" or "Knapp" the name will sound out as "I Need A Bath" or "I Need A Nap". Your child may have to live with cruel teasing as she grows up with a name that sounds out to be "funny".
  3. Make sure the initials of the first, middle and last name can not be spelled out into a word. For instance, Andrew Samuel Simmons' initials are ... A. S. S. It's easy to see that this could be a question for "Andrew."
